Alice Young

Behaviour Change Expert Lead

Alice Young serves as the Behaviour Change Team Lead at My CWA, bringing a wealth of expertise and a strong academic background to her role. With 11 months at My CWA, Alice has quickly established herself as a key player in supporting individuals to explore and change harmful behaviours. She holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy and an MEd in Psychology of Education from the University of Manchester, demonstrating a solid foundation in both Philosophical inquiry and Psychology Theory.  

As a British Psychological Society Graduate Member (ID: 682415) and a General Member of the Forensic and Clinical Psychology Division, Alice is deeply involved in the professional psychology community. She is also a Full Member of the Crisis, Disaster and Trauma, and Developmental Psychology Divisions, and an Associate Member of the Faculty of Forensic Clinical Psychology. Her commitment to professional development is further evidenced by her accreditation in Engaging with Those Who Harm from SafeLives and AIM 3 Accreditation in Assessment, and Intervention.  

Alice’s qualifications include Level 2 Certificates in Counselling Skills (CPCAB) and Developing Therapeutic Skills (HeadSight), equipping her with the necessary tools to provide effective therapeutic support. She is also a member of the University of Manchester Behaviour Change Meeting Group, reflecting her ongoing interest in evidence-based practice and the application of academic research to frontline interventions.  

With a history of supporting both adults and young people who have significant trauma histories, Alice has worked extensively with individuals dealing with harmful sexual behaviours, gang involvement, radicalisation/idealisation, and child sexual exploitation (CSE). Her special interest lies in the importance of using academic research and theory to inform practical approaches, ensuring that interventions are grounded in the latest evidence-based practices.  

Alice’s dedication to her work and her broad range of skills makes her an invaluable asset to the My CWA team, where she continues to lead efforts in behaviour change with compassion, expertise, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.
