Herefordshire Council
Herefordshire Council’s Safeguarding & Support and Early Permanence Service works with families across the county to protect and promote the welfare of children and young people. The service plays a pivotal role in safeguarding children at home and within the wider community, supporting long-term safety, wellbeing, and resilience.
Led by Service Managers Deborah Morgan and Tutsi Selvey, the team is committed to reflective practice and continuous improvement, offering responsive, evidence based support to both survivors of domestic abuse and those who may be causing harm.
Argyll and Bute Council
Argyll and Bute Council’s Violence Against Women and Girls Partnership (VAWGP) leads local efforts to prevent and respond to domestic abuse and gender-based violence across one of Scotland’s most geographically diverse regions. The partnership brings together statutory and third-sector organisations to strengthen professional knowledge, coordinate responses, and ensure consistent, trauma-informed practice across services
Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service
Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS) is a specialist domestic abuse service that supports, educates and empowers all those affected by domestic abuse across Shropshire. The organisation offers a survivor-led focus, within a multi-agency arena, providing a holistic package of support. Their services include; operating a large women’s refuge, dispersed accommodation, along with support services for women, men, LGBT individuals, children and young people.
Jen’s Story
When Jen arrived at refuge in December 2024, she was facing significant challenges. A mum to five, four of her children were living dad, and her young baby was in foster care. Her perpetrator was in prison.
Working closely with social services and supported one-to-one by Martha, her key worker from My CWA, Jen began to face the trauma she had experienced and understand the wider impact it had on her family.
Just 5 days before Christmas, her baby was returned to her care. That return didn’t happen by chance. It was the result of Jen’s courage, hard work, and a fierce determination to turn her life around, for herself, and for her children.
